Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cup Water (235 g)
- 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil (27 g)
- 1 tbsp Sugar (13 g)
- 1 1/2 tsp Salt (10g)
- 4 1/2 cup Flour (540 g)
- 2 tsp Yeast or 120g starter
- 5 cups Water
- 2 tbsp Baking Soda
- (optional) large Salt or Sugar granules to taste
Method
- First add Water and Oil to bread machine. Then add Salt, Sugar, Flour, and lastly Yeast.
- Set your bread machine to the dough setting. This will take approximately 90 minutes.
- Split the dough into 16. Roll out into a long roll, pinch the ends together and twist twice. Lay flat and add salt or sugar if preferred.
- Add Water and Baking Soda to a pot and bring to a boil. Heat oven to 450F.
- Gently add the dough to the water and boil for 1 minute. Strain dough and place on oiled baking tray.
- Bake dough for 10-12 minutes. Let cool on a wire rack before eating.
If using starter reduce water by 60 g and flour by 60 g.
