Ingredients

  • Whole Wheat Bread
    • 500g Whole wheat flour
    • 350g Water
    • 10g Salt
    • 35g Sugar
    • 30g Oil or Butter
    • 15g Malt Powder
    • 1.25 tsp Yeast
    White Bread
    • 500g Wheat flour
    • 300g Water
    • 10g Salt
    • 35g Sugar
    • 30g Oil or Butter
    • 15g Malt Powder
    • 1 tsp Yeast

Method

  1. First add the water, then the Salt, Sugar, oil to bread machine. Then add Flour, Malt, and finally the Yeast.
  2. Set your bread machine to the dough setting to combine the ingredients. Bake in the bread machine to preferred setting, or in the oven.
  3. Optional. For Whole wheat bread I like to substitute 100g whole wheat flour with white flour. This provides additional gluten to give a good crumb.
  4. Optional. If you want to try adding other flours, such as buckwheat or spelt, don’t exceed any more than 20% of the “flour”. That means don’t substitute more than 100g of the flour with non-wheat flour.
