    PPG Proluxe (Sikkens)

Background During my searches for a compatible wood filler, I kept turning up blank. Mainly because the wood filler product usually wouldn’t list what material it was made out of, and secondly because PPG don’t have any recommended products. PPG basically say to try out the product to ensure compatibility. Since I’m not made of money I grabbed two products to test, The first was ZAR Patch Wood Filler and the second was Minwax Color-changing Wood Filler. The ZAR Patch Wood filler is available in a number of colors and is latex based. The Minwax is a pink color but dries “neutral”, which was rather yellow. PPG recommend a wood…

    Ryobi Tools

Ryobi Hammer Drill (P251) Ryobi Circular Saw (P508) Ryobi Multitool (P570) Ryobi Tyre Inflator (P737D) Ryobi Pressure Washer (RY120350) Previous Next In order to build our new deck we needed some new tools. When we had moved into out house I had bought a basic consumer grade drill from Dewalt just to do simple things. I own plenty of tools back in my home country and didn’t want to double up on anything I already owned. Well, that little drill that couldn’t, couldn’t. That cheap Dewalt had a bent shaft or something, so the chuck would wobble and would do a terrible job. Plus I needed a hammer function for…

    A Better Way To Shave

If all you have used to shave with is a multi blade from Gillette or Schick etc, then you are doing your face a disservice. As a long sufferer of razor burn, ingrown hair, and acne from using the Gillette Mach 3 system for years. I was talking to a friend at a BBQ and he was singing the praises of his safety razor, so I thought I’d give it a go too. With my research of not really knowing what to look for in either the handle or the blades I settled on going to well established brands.  Handle Choice For the handle I settled on a German brand,…

    Under Armour Sportsmask

UA Sports Mask During the pandemic I needed to remain fit, and running is the easiest and safest way to do so. While the mask mandate doesn’t require the use of masks while exercising, I still want to be my bit to stop the spread of COVID-19. I measured my face as shown on the Under Armour website, which is from the bridge of your nose to the center of your ear. I just measured from center of ear to center of ear over the bridge of my nose, then divided that by 2. Being borderline MD/LG to LG/XL, so went with LG/XL. First Impressions My first impression is that…

    Review: Lenovo Active Pen 2

I have been drawing illustrations for this blog for a while now. The 3-year old Lenovo Flex 5 (a.k.a Yoga 520) that I use has a pretty nice touch screen that I could use my finger to draw directly. The illustrations were decent but generally lack line weight distinction. Feeling like I should up my drawing game a bit, I decided to purchase a fine-point stylus. My research advised me that there are two different types of stylus available on the market. In a nutshell they are: 1) Passive stylus Pros: No battery required. No need for paring. Cheap! Cons: No shortcut function. No palm rejection. 2) Active stylus Pros:…
